Gosainkund is one of the Hindu holy places and is considered to be created by Lord Shiva. The Buddhist Tamangs (tribes) that live nearby also revere it as their holy place. Every August, on a full-moon night, the lake is thronged with pilgrims for a big festival. On other days, the lake sits in a tranquil atmosphere welcoming nature lovers.
We trek through larch and rhododendron forests that are rich with wild flowers and birds. We get enough time to explore the head of the valley getting close to the glacier system or climbing a nearby peak for amazing mountain views. From there, we ascend up and pass the holy lake Gosaikunda to enter Helambu via the Laurebina pass (4610m). In between we can enjoy with the stunning views of Mt. Manaslu, Ganesh Himal and the Annapurna massif.
